Drum Monkeys

As the legendary reviews editor of DJ Mag for most of the Noughties, Carl Loben has helped define what we know as dance music today and he DJs, produces and remixes music as 'Drum Monkeys'.
Carl owns respected label Westway Records in partnership with Dub Pistols' Barry Ashworth and it has just been nominated for 'Best Label' in Breakspoll's prestigious 'International Breakbeat Awards 2010'. His own recent remix releases include tracks for Access Denied and B-Phreak, he is about to go into the studio to record a track with Leeroy Thornhill formerly of The Prodigy and will also soon be mixing the next Westway compilation, the follow-up to the acclaimed ‘Westway To The World’. Recent DJ dates have seen him rocking dancefloors in some of the world’s top clubs such as Fabric in London, Space in Ibiza, Babyface in Shanghai and Sirena in Brazil.
